American Student Dental Association

ASDA is a national student-run organization that protects and advances the rights, interests, and welfare of students pursuing careers in dentistry.

It introduces students to lifelong involvement in organized dentistry and provides services, information, education, representation and advocacy.

ASDA allows dental students to have one united voice. ASDA members discuss and pass resolutions/policies at our annual session. With a chapter from each of the 66 dental schools cross-country from a total of 11 districts, ASDA involves 22k dental students from across the Unites States.

WVU ASDA Chapter

Students at West Virginia University School of Dentistry comprise WVU's ASDA chapter. The entire student body from all four dental classes are members of WVU ASDA.

WVU ASDA consists of approximately 220 students who strive to support the needs and interests of dental students. We identify and promote needed changes in dental education, while also improving dental care and delivery to all people by identifying public dental needs.

We strive is to inspire and further develop leadership by increasing involvement with local, state, and national leaders in the dental community. We actively engage our current members, alumni, faculty, and staff by organizing educational dinner receptions, networking events, and pre-dental Q&A sessions.

Our Mission statement

The mission of the ASDA chapter at WVU is to introduce students to lifelong involvement in organized dentistry and provide services, information, education, representation and advocacy.

Our President's message

ASDA has proven to me the importance of organized dentistry by using the voice of every dental student across the country to advocate for our profession. I only hope to shed a glimpse of that on WVU SoD to get our students involved and better all of our futures!
