The American Dental Political Action Committee supports members and potential members of Congress who favor legislative issues such as increasing student loan interest deductions, reducing barriers to care, and expanding community dental health programs. Across the country, dentists work to establish and maintain meaningful relationships with their members of Congress. Combining resources via ADPAC gives you the chance to have an impact on political forces affecting your professional lives.

Engage allows you to participate in the discussion and processes that impact your life as a dental student and your future career as a dentist.

Advocacy Brief

The Advocacy Brief is a monthly e-newsletter that is sent to all ASDA members.  It contains information about advocacy issues, legislative and regulatory activities and political affairs related to dentistry. It aims at increasing dental students' understanding and involvement in the legislative process, at both the federal and state level.

ADA Dentist and Student Lobby Day

April 8-10, 2018
Washington, D.C.

National Dental Student Lobby Day entails training on how Congress works, how to lobby and the politics of Capitol Hill. There are in-depth discussions about student debt reduction and other dental issues.  Participants also get to network with fellow students and others in organized dentistry who are passionate about the profession.

ASDA Legislative Liaisons
Our legislative liaison is an experts on the current dental issues on the state and national level. This student is responsible for our ADPAC chapter recruitment, organizing our annual State Lobby Day, as well as leading a team at National Lobby Day.

What is happening on Capitol Hill today will affect how you practice dentistry in the future.  Legislation can affect where we practice, who compensates us, what materials we use and how we will practice.
